Arend Fokke Simonsz (Amsterdam, July 3, 1755 – November 15, 1812) was a Dutch writer and man of letters. Arend Fokke Simonsz was born as the son of Simon and Cornelia Fokke. Simonsz was best known as a writer, but was also an important person in the literary world at the end of the eighteenth century. He had his own publishing house for some time and was a member of a large number of literary societies. He lived his entire life in Amsterdam, but had a large number of contacts throughout the country. He died at the age of 57 in Amsterdam.
Jacob Smies, born June 11, 1764 in Amsterdam, was a painter, draftsman and engraver. He was a member of St. Lucas guild and Felix Merites. He died on August 14, 1833 in Amsterdam.
Daniël Veelwaard, born on August 14 in Amsterdam, was an engraver, etcher and draftsman. He married three times and had four children. His work includes the prints in the ‘Museum Anatomicum’ based on drawings by Professor Gerard Sandifort. Veelwaard died on February 27, 1851 in Amsterdam.
