Jacob Gole married on the 17th of June 1701 in Amsterdam, and indicated at that occasion to be 35 years old, that means that he must have been born around 1665. He was an engraver, publisher, and playing-card maker. Jacob Gole was the son of the French cabinet-maker Pierre Gole, a Huguenot who emigrated to Holland somewhere around 1684. Jacob Gole died in Amsterdam in January of 1724 and was buried on 29 January 1724 in the French Protestants Church.
