Proclamation addressed to the citizens of the Batavian republic by the state government. After a long and flowery indictment of the ongoing war between the Napoleonic Empire (including the republic) and the Allies (Great Britain, Prussia and Russia). While the responsibility for this war is of course placed with the Allies, it is concluded that all in all the country is still doing reasonably well and that a thank you and a prayer for it is on the agenda.

The proclamation is in Dutch, and was issued on February 6, 1804 by the state printer and signed on behalf of the State Government by A.F.R.E. van Haersolte and C.G. Hultman.
